Paperwork:
Completed Physical and Gold card delivered and reviewed
to Athletic Director Secretary (Jane Smith). If complete
she will stamp gold card with principal’s signature.
Stamped gold card to be given to coach Panizzi as
evidence that athlete has been cleared to participate in
practice.
Please note if there is someone who does
NOT have health insurance there is a form in their
student registration packet to get it for the year
inexpensively. That packet was bulk mailed on July 22nd
so you would have it by the time your season starts. If
you have any question regarding this please call Jane
Schmidt in the athletic office 313-432-3542

Lift-A-Thon
As you probably know by now each athlete in the Grosse
Pointe South football program is required to pay $100
for their “Practice Pack”, which includes various items
needed to participate in football. All the items in the
practice pack are the players to keep after the season.
In order to provide our players an
opportunity to offset all or part of the fee he will be
seeking donations from friends, family, & neighbors for
participating in the “Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils
Football Lift-A-Thon”. The players are seeking either a
flat donation or a per pound donation based on their
maximum bench press.
Players wishing to participate in this
program will be bringing home a Lift-A-Thon pledge form.
The coaches will be working with the boys to determine
their maximum bench press so they can fill in that part
of the form.
The athlete will be responsible to pay
the balance of the $100 practice pack fee not covered by
the donations. Checks should be made out to “Grosse
Pointe South Football” or “Grosse Pointe South High
School”. All pledges are tax deductible
If the athletes family prefers to pay the
full $100 up front and collect the donations later that
is ok but be careful not to collect more than $100 in
donations and provide the appropriate documentation to
the donator so they can deduct the contribution in their
tax return.
Team & Individual Pictures
Saturday August 15 is picture day. A picture order
envelope will be passed out to the players prior to
picture day to take home to their families. There are
several picture combination options for the family to
select from. Please have the players bring the order
envelope, completely filled out, with them on picture
day. Please forward any questions you have regarding the
various package options directly to Visual Sports.
Participation in this program is optional.
